Handspinning...

I started Handspinning the other day, since I got my kit from Susan's Spinning Bunny and even though I don't think I'm really doing it the right way, I'm happy with learning to work with the fiber to turn it into yarn.
Some pics for you to see...
This is the first roving I spun, a Natural Brown Corriedale...

The second was so pretty I wanted to take a picture of the roving before and after...This one is Colonial Blues...

I have a whole 5 fiber sampler to start on in the Roses for You colorway...and hopefully I'll be doing better as I go!

Let Me Introduce Myself

Figured I should finally start using this thing since I started it in January to put all my ongoing projects up. Some basics on me to start...I'm going to be 25 in a few months, and I think I do more crafts than most females my age (that is until I joined Ravelry!). I was taught to crochet at the age of 5 by my Grandma...and I remember my first crochet project was with a rose colored yarn, and since I had no clue what I was doing I wound up decreasing on each side, then remedied it by starting to increase on each side...the end result: a Barbie apron! Since then I have improved and love to make things with my hands. I've designed plenty of sweaters for myself, and have made crocheted items as Christmans presents for as long as I can remember.

It wasn't until a few months ago that I decided to pick up some knitting needles and try my hand at it. I knitted for a bit when I was about 7 or 8, but it just never stuck. So in February I bought my yarn and some needles and started over...the end result? A super warm sleeveless sweater that I absolutely love to wear! So right now I have three projects on my needles: Unbiased Bag, A Dress Jumper, and a Dog Sweater. Plus my best friend's daughter's baby blanket to finish crocheting and a sweater to finish crocheting for myself. Not to mention the 50+ projects I have on my ravelry list and elsewhere!

Outside of crocheting and knitting I like to do counted cross stitch, photography, scrapbooking and cardmaking. I dabble in pretty much everything and I would love to just be able to sit and work on my crafts all day long! Too bad my job gets in the way!

Pretty soon I'll be taking up spinning. I'm going to start with spinning on a drop spindle, then eventually buying a spinning wheel...probably this fall.

Anyway...I'll be posting pics of my finished projects on here soon...so come back!

First of Many

I just joined Ravelry (awesome by the way!) but I wanted another place to show off the many crochet projects that I'm working on. Much easier to upload pics of in process and completed projects, just need to remember to take the pictures now!

So enjoy my pics, I'll even offer patterns (if I created it) or provide the links to all of my projects.

Enjoy!!
